COURSE DESCRIPTION
Step into the healthcare industry with confidence through our Medical Administration course. Designed for beginners and aspiring healthcare professionals, this course equips you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a medical office or clinical environment.
You'll learn how to communicate effectively using medical terminology, manage patient records, handle medical accounts, and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and privacy.
This comprehensive course provides hands-on, real-world training aligned with nationally recognised units. You'll gain the essential administrative skills required to support healthcare teams and ensure smooth, professional patient services.
This course also offers a pathway to BSB30120 Certificate III in Business Administration (Medical Administration). On successful completion, students will receive a Statement of Attainment.
UNITS OF COMPETENCY
- BSBMED301 – Interpret and apply medical terminology appropriately
- BSBMED302 – Prepare and process medical accounts
- BSBMED305 – Apply the principles of confidentiality, privacy and security within the medical environment

Students should have adequate language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills to successfully complete the course. Please contact us if you require additional support.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
If you already have relevant work experience or prior training, you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer. Please contact the college before enrolling to discuss your options.
GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY
A NSW Government subsidy may be available for eligible students under the Adult and Community Education (ACE) program.
