COURSE DESCRIPTION

Advance your career in the beauty industry with this nationally recognised qualification. This course prepares you to work as a beauty therapist, delivering a wide range of services including facials, body treatments, massage, hair removal, lash and brow, nail, and make-up services, along with professional client consultations and product recommendations.

Training is delivered at PCC Beauty Academy, North Parramatta, by qualified industry trainers.

On successful completion, students will receive the SHB50121 Diploma of Beauty Therapy (AQF qualification).

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Students will learn how to:

  • Perform a wide range of beauty therapy treatments
  • Consult with clients and recommend suitable services and products
  • Maintain industry standards, hygiene, and safety practices
  • Support salon operations and customer service
  • Develop skills relevant to working in or managing a beauty business

DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT

Training is delivered face-to-face at PCC Beauty Academy, North Parramatta, with 2 days of classes per week.

Students are also required to complete a minimum of 240 hours of work placement in a registered beauty salon.

Assessments include practical demonstrations, knowledge questions, case studies, and workplace-based tasks.

REQUIREMENTS

There are no formal entry requirements. However, students should have basic language, literacy, numeracy, and computer skills to complete assessments.

Learner materials are provided. Access to a computer and internet is required for study and assessment tasks.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

If you already have relevant work experience or prior training, you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer. Please contact the college before enrolling to discuss your options.

GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY

NSW Government subsidy may be available for eligible students under the Smart and Skilled program.
