COURSE DESCRIPTION
Take the next step in your career and become a qualified trainer and assessor. The TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment equips you with the skills to design, deliver, and assess vocational training across a range of industries.
This qualification is the minimum requirement to teach in the VET sector, including Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), workplaces, and community organisations.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Students will learn how to:
- Design and develop vocational training programs
- Deliver training in classroom and online environments
- Assess competency and participate in validation
- Develop assessment tools aligned with industry standards
- Work effectively within the VET framework
DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT
Training is delivered face-to-face at Western Sydney Skills Hub, North Parramatta.
Students will participate in practical training, group activities, and simulated workplace tasks.
Assessments include:
- Practical demonstrations and presentations
- Portfolio of evidence and written tasks
- Role plays and workplace simulations
- Third-party reports and reflective activities
REQUIREMENTS
Students must demonstrate vocational competence in their chosen training area (relevant qualification or industry experience required).
Basic computer skills and access to a computer and internet are required.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
If you already have relevant work experience or prior training, you may be eligible to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer. Evidence will be assessed against unit requirements, and additional training may be required. Please contact the college before enrolling to discuss your options.
GOVERNMENT SUBSIDY
A NSW Government subsidy may be available for eligible students under the Adult and Community Education (ACE) program.
